Is A Court Appearance Required?

Generally, a court appearance is not required for an expungement. Some expungements may require a court appearance if an issue needs to be clarified on the record, or if the prosecutor's reason for objecting to the discharge may be resolved by a judge.

If the objection for the discharge results in you having to file an appeal, there may be a court appearance required to hear the appeal. However, this is determined on a case by case basis and is very fact sensitive.
