DMV Points / License Suspension

Mr. Gomez is an experienced criminal defense attorney.  He has represented people accused of all types of charges.  Some of Mr. Gomez’ clients have been accused of murder, attempted murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, weapons possession, drug trafficking, and lesser offenses such as shoplifting, domestic violence, and harassment.  Mr. Gomez has successfully obtained the results his clients have wanted when facing such charges. In some cases where a client may have faced many years in State Prison, Mr. Gomez has been able either to get the case dismissed, reduce the sentence to probation or obtain a complete acquittal from a jury after trial.  The criminal laws have become increasingly stiff over the years.  Many new crimes have been added to the code of criminal justice, and the sentences now include mandatory minimum sentences that must be served before an accused is eligible for parole.  For example, Megan’s law, the No Early Release Act (NERA) (also known as the 85% rule because it requires defendants to complete 85% of their sentence before becoming eligible for parole), and charges of crimes committed within 1000 feet of a school all have mandatory minimum sentence requirements that are very technical and have grave consequences for the accused.
